Public Mental Health Network
The inaugural meeting of a new public mental health network was held on 13th December 2012, as a joint meeting between the Royal College of Psychiatrists and Queen Mary University of London.
The seminar learning objectives were:
- To prepare the mental health workforce for the new public health environment by setting out the new structures and processes.
- To protect and promote ‘public mental health’ through skilling up the workforce to action public health initiatives in their localities.
- To do this by encouraging engagement with local and national organisations and processes.
A new public mental health commissioning resource was launched following this seminar, copies of which can be downloaded from: www.jcpmh.info
The second public health seminar will be held at the Royal College of Psychiatrists on 13th February. If you wish to join the network, contribute to or attend future meetings, please contact Claire Churchill at the Royal College of Psychiatrists: firstname.lastname@example.org
